Please note

Benchtop Glue has a short open time, so make sure all tools and parts are ready before applying glue.

Once the glue is applied, work quickly and keep the join clean while it sets.

  1. Apply glue to the benchtop edge

Slightly moisten the edge of the benchtop before applying the glue.

Evenly apply the Benchtop Glue to the join edge and spread it with a spatula.

Make sure there is good coverage along the top edge of the join.

Note: The open time is only 5 minutes, so you will need to work quickly once the glue is applied.

  2. Fit and lightly tighten the toggle bolts

Fit the toggle bolts from underneath the benchtop.

Use a 10mm open-ended spanner to tighten the toggle bolts.

Do not fully tighten the toggle bolts at this stage, as you will need to check the levels and make adjustments.

  3. Level the benchtop join

Use a hammer and wooden block to gently tap the benchtop until the join is even.

Once both sides are level, finish tightening the toggle bolts from underneath.

Tip: Use the wooden block between the hammer and benchtop to protect the surface while adjusting the join.

  4. Clean excess glue

Scrape off any excess glue from the join.

Use the cleaning agent and rag to remove all remaining glue from the benchtop surface.

The glue will continue to ooze for the next 30 minutes, so it is important to keep cleaning the join during this time.

Important: Be very thorough with the final clean, as any leftover glue will be impossible to remove once it has set.

  5. Leave the benchtop to set

Leave the benchtop to set for at least 2 hours before moving it.

For best results, leave the benchtop to set overnight before moving or installing it.
