How to Cut a Sink Hole in Laminate Benchtop
This guide shows how to mark and cut a sink opening in your benchtop.
Refer to the video above for a visual guide.
Before you begin
You will need
Measuring Tool
Pencil
Long Ruler
Jigsaw
10mm Drill
Please note
Take your time when marking the sink position. Check your measurements before cutting.
The sink will cover the cut edge, so the cut does not need to be perfectly smooth.
-
Place sink upside down
Place the sink upside down on the benchtop in the desired position.
-
Trace around the sink
Use a pencil to trace around the outside edge of the sink.
-
Draw a second line
Draw a second line 15mm inside the first traced line.
Important: The inner line is the line you will cut around.
-
Drill a starter hole
Drill a 10mm hole inside the inner line.
This creates a starting point for the jigsaw blade.
-
Cut around the line
Cut around the inner line using a jigsaw.
Note: Don’t worry about the jagged edge as the sink will cover this.
