Kitchen and Laundry Cabinets

Do you manufacture custom cabinets?

We do not offer custom cabinets. You can find all available sizes on our website under Our Products.

For gaps, we recommend using filler panels with a void behind them. If you're struggling to make our standard cabinets fit your space, email info@cabjaks.co.nz with your plans and we’ll do our best to suggest a solution. Please note that we are limited to our standard modules, so we may not have a solution for every situation.

Will my cabinets come flat packed?

Our kitchen, laundry and tall cabinets come fully assembled. We do not offer flat packed cabinets.

Can I just replace the doors on my cabinets?

Yes. If your original cabinets were purchased from Cabjaks, you can order replacements using our standard fronts.

If your cabinets were not purchased from us, you can use our custom panel tool to price doors in your required size.

Can I change the placement of my handles?

We are unable to change handle placement during manufacturing. This would need to be done on-site during installation.

If you select "No handle holes", the fronts will not be drilled, allowing you to choose your own handle placement on-site.

Do you manufacture shaker style doors?

No, we do not manufacture shaker style doors.

Do you sell appliances?

Yes, we sell a range of appliances. These can be viewed here: Browse appliances.

Will my cabinets come with the handles attached?

No. To prevent damage during transit, handles are supplied separately with the screws and must be installed on-site.

What’s the difference between sink back and non-sink back cabinets?

Sink back cabinets have a solid 16mm back panel, making it easier to fix electrical and plumbing components directly to the cabinet.

Non-sink back cabinets have a thinner 3mm backing board. These can still be used under sinks, but installation may be more difficult.

Can I buy extra shelves?

Yes, we sell additional shelves for our cabinets. You can order them here: Extra cabinet shelves.

If you need shelves for cabinets not purchased from Cabjaks, measure your required size and check if one of our stock shelves will fit. Otherwise, you can order a custom panel using our custom panel tool.

What is the weight capacity of shelves?

There is no fixed weight rating, as this depends on factors such as shelf width, load distribution, and installation.

To reduce the risk of bowing, we recommend installing an L-bracket underneath the shelf for additional support.

What is the weight capacity of drawers?

  • Soft close drawers: 40kg per drawer
  • Standard drawers: 25kg per drawer

How much adjustment do the cabinet feet allow?

The adjustable feet can be set between 110mm and 160mm in height.

Do you have cabinets designed for stacked washing machines and dryers?

No, we do not manufacture cabinets specifically designed to house stacked washing machines and dryers.

Our recommended approach is to place the appliances side by side, with end panels on either side and a benchtop installed over them.

Do I need end panels for wall cabinets?

No, standard white wall cabinets come with finished sides.

However, if you are ordering coloured fronts, you will need end panels on any exposed sides, as the cabinet carcasses remain white.

Can I order cabinets without doors?

Yes. At the bottom of the cart, there is a special request option where you can select to exclude doors.

You can either:

  • Place your order and we will refund the door price difference, or
  • Select bank deposit, and we will adjust the invoice before payment

Please include a note requesting a door reduction so our team can process it correctly.

How do I plan using corner cabinets?

Our corner base cabinets measure 786 × 786mm.

They align with:

  • 485mm deep cabinets when installed directly against the wall
  • 585mm deep cabinets when installed 100mm off each wall (resulting in an overall footprint of 886 × 886mm)

Blind corner cabinets require a filler panel on the return side to ensure doors and drawers can open properly.

For a 50 × 50mm corner:

  • Install the cabinet 35mm off the wall
  • Use a 50mm wide filler panel
