How do I plan my kitchen or laundry with Cabjaks?
You can use our online kitchen planner or laundry planner to get a quote for your cabinetry and plan out your layout. From there, you can use our benchtop planner to plan and quote your required custom benchtop.
Our Customer Hub has a variety of guides and quick links that can help you get started with your Cabjaks journey. If you have any questions or require any assistance with planning, you can use the online chat function or visit our Contact Us page.
Are cabinets flat packed or fully assembled?
All of our kitchen, laundry and tall cabinets come fully assembled. We do not offer flat packed cabinets. Wardrobe towers and components are flat packed.
Do you offer custom sizes?
We do not offer custom cabinet sizes. You can find all available cabinet sizes on the cabinet home page or in our online kitchen planner and laundry planner.
We can manufacture custom panels and custom benchtops to your required measurements.
For gaps, we recommend using filler panels with a void behind them. If you're struggling to make our standard cabinets fit your space, email info@cabjaks.co.nz with your plans and we’ll do our best to suggest a solution. Please note that we are limited to our standard modules, so we may not have a solution for every situation.
What colours are available?
We have several cabinet colour upgrade options. You can view our Finishes and Upgrade Options page to see all samples and colour swatches. You can also click here to view and order our samples.
What is included in each cabinet?
Our cabinets are dispatched fully assembled. The carcass is glued and doweled on assembly, and hinges, doors or drawers are installed. Handle holes will be automatically drilled on the cabinets at a 128mm centre unless the ‘no handle holes’ option is selected at the cart.
Handles, adjustable feet, shelves and shelf supports are not installed before dispatch and are packaged separately. However, base plates for the feet are installed and shelf support holes are drilled inside the cabinet carcass.
Can I order extra panels, fillers, shelves and accessories?
Yes, you can order additional filler, toe kick and end panels on our finishing panels page.
Additional cabinet shelves can be ordered from our cabinet shelf product page.
Accessories, extras, appliances, sinks and tapware can all be purchased through our extras page.
Can I order more than one colour?
Yes, you can order multiple colours, however, this must be done in multiple orders. Due to the way our system is set up, only one colour can be ordered at a time.
If you wish to order multiple different colours, place one order at a time with each specified colour. To combine orders for delivery, place the first order with the shipping cost added, then place the remaining orders as ‘pick up’ and contact us directly to get the orders combined in the same delivery.
Can I just replace the doors or drawer fronts on my cabinets?
Yes. If your original cabinets were purchased from Cabjaks, you can order replacements using our standard fronts page or by following through our Colour Refresh Tool.
If your cabinets were not purchased from us, you can use our custom panel tool to price doors in your required size.
Do you offer shaker style door profiles?
No, we do not manufacture shaker style doors. We can only currently manufacture the standard door and drawer front profile pictured on our website.
Do you sell appliances?
Yes, you can purchase appliances from our appliances page.
What is the difference between sink back and non-sink back cabinets?
Sink back cabinets have a solid 16mm back panel, making it easier to fix electrical and plumbing components directly to the cabinet.
Non-sink back cabinets have a thinner 3mm backing board. These can still be used under sinks, depending on your installation requirements.
What is the weight/load capacity of shelves and drawers?
There is no fixed weight rating for shelves, as this depends on factors such as shelf width, load distribution, and installation. To reduce the risk of bowing, we recommend installing an L-bracket underneath the shelf for additional support.
Soft close drawers: 40kg per drawer
Standard drawers: 25kg per drawer
How much adjustment do the cabinet feet allow?
Adjustable feet can be set anywhere between 110mm and 160mm in height. Standard toe kick height for these is 150mm. If you are planning to adjust the feet height, you may need to cut down standard toe kick panels or order custom panels to suit.
Do you have cabinets designed for stacked washing machines and dryers?
No, we do not manufacture cabinets specifically designed to house stacked washing machines and dryers. Our recommended approach is to place the appliances side by side, with end panels on either side and a benchtop installed over them.
When do I need to add end panels?
Base end panels and tall end panels should be used at the end of any exposed run of cabinets to give a more finished look and give the toe kick something to butt up to.
This is especially important if you are ordering in colour, as the cabinet carcass remains white, so any exposed cabinet sides will need to be covered with a coloured end panel.
Wall cabinets do not require additional end panels unless they are being ordered in colour, in which case wall end panels should be purchased to cover the white cabinet carcasses if they are visible.
Can I order cabinets without doors?
Yes, in the shopping cart, there is a special request option where you can select to exclude doors.
You can either place your order and we will refund the door price difference, or select bank deposit and we will adjust the invoice before payment.
Please include a note requesting a door reduction so our team can process it correctly.
Do you offer handleless cabinet options?
Yes, you will find options to select ‘no handle holes’ once you are in the cart on the Cabjaks website.
How do I plan for Cabjaks corner cabinets?
Our corner base cabinets measure 786 × 786mm.
They align with 485mm deep cabinets when installed directly against the wall, or 585mm deep cabinets when installed 100mm off each wall. This results in an overall footprint of 886 × 886mm.
Blind corner cabinets require a filler panel on the return side to ensure doors and drawers can open properly.
For a 50 × 50mm corner, install the cabinet 35mm off the wall and use a 50mm wide filler panel.
