How do I plan my kitchen or laundry with Cabjaks?

You can use our online kitchen planner or laundry planner to get a quote for your cabinetry and plan out your layout. From there, you can use our benchtop planner to plan and quote your required custom benchtop.

Our Customer Hub has a variety of guides and quick links that can help you get started with your Cabjaks journey. If you have any questions or require any assistance with planning, you can use the online chat function or visit our Contact Us page.

Are cabinets flat packed or fully assembled?

All of our kitchen, laundry and tall cabinets come fully assembled. We do not offer flat packed cabinets. Wardrobe towers and components are flat packed.

Do you offer custom sizes?

We do not offer custom cabinet sizes. You can find all available cabinet sizes on the cabinet home page or in our online kitchen planner and laundry planner.

We can manufacture custom panels and custom benchtops to your required measurements.

For gaps, we recommend using filler panels with a void behind them. If you're struggling to make our standard cabinets fit your space, email info@cabjaks.co.nz with your plans and we’ll do our best to suggest a solution. Please note that we are limited to our standard modules, so we may not have a solution for every situation.

What colours are available?

We have several cabinet colour upgrade options. You can view our Finishes and Upgrade Options page to see all samples and colour swatches. You can also click here to view and order our samples.

What is included in each cabinet?

Our cabinets are dispatched fully assembled. The carcass is glued and doweled on assembly, and hinges, doors or drawers are installed. Handle holes will be automatically drilled on the cabinets at a 128mm centre unless the ‘no handle holes’ option is selected at the cart.

Handles, adjustable feet, shelves and shelf supports are not installed before dispatch and are packaged separately. However, base plates for the feet are installed and shelf support holes are drilled inside the cabinet carcass.

Can I order extra panels, fillers, shelves and accessories?

Yes, you can order additional filler, toe kick and end panels on our finishing panels page.

Additional cabinet shelves can be ordered from our cabinet shelf product page.

Accessories, extras, appliances, sinks and tapware can all be purchased through our extras page.

Can I order more than one colour?

Yes, you can order multiple colours, however, this must be done in multiple orders. Due to the way our system is set up, only one colour can be ordered at a time.

If you wish to order multiple different colours, place one order at a time with each specified colour. To combine orders for delivery, place the first order with the shipping cost added, then place the remaining orders as ‘pick up’ and contact us directly to get the orders combined in the same delivery.

Can I just replace the doors or drawer fronts on my cabinets?

Yes. If your original cabinets were purchased from Cabjaks, you can order replacements using our standard fronts page or by following through our Colour Refresh Tool.

If your cabinets were not purchased from us, you can use our custom panel tool to price doors in your required size.

Do you offer shaker style door profiles?

No, we do not manufacture shaker style doors. We can only currently manufacture the standard door and drawer front profile pictured on our website.

Do you sell appliances?

Yes, you can purchase appliances from our appliances page.

What is the difference between sink back and non-sink back cabinets?

Sink back cabinets have a solid 16mm back panel, making it easier to fix electrical and plumbing components directly to the cabinet.

Non-sink back cabinets have a thinner 3mm backing board. These can still be used under sinks, depending on your installation requirements.

What is the weight/load capacity of shelves and drawers?

There is no fixed weight rating for shelves, as this depends on factors such as shelf width, load distribution, and installation. To reduce the risk of bowing, we recommend installing an L-bracket underneath the shelf for additional support.

Soft close drawers: 40kg per drawer
Standard drawers: 25kg per drawer

How much adjustment do the cabinet feet allow?

Adjustable feet can be set anywhere between 110mm and 160mm in height. Standard toe kick height for these is 150mm. If you are planning to adjust the feet height, you may need to cut down standard toe kick panels or order custom panels to suit.

Do you have cabinets designed for stacked washing machines and dryers?

No, we do not manufacture cabinets specifically designed to house stacked washing machines and dryers. Our recommended approach is to place the appliances side by side, with end panels on either side and a benchtop installed over them.

When do I need to add end panels?

Base end panels and tall end panels should be used at the end of any exposed run of cabinets to give a more finished look and give the toe kick something to butt up to.

This is especially important if you are ordering in colour, as the cabinet carcass remains white, so any exposed cabinet sides will need to be covered with a coloured end panel.

Wall cabinets do not require additional end panels unless they are being ordered in colour, in which case wall end panels should be purchased to cover the white cabinet carcasses if they are visible.

Can I order cabinets without doors?

Yes, in the shopping cart, there is a special request option where you can select to exclude doors.

You can either place your order and we will refund the door price difference, or select bank deposit and we will adjust the invoice before payment.

Please include a note requesting a door reduction so our team can process it correctly.

Do you offer handleless cabinet options?

Yes, you will find options to select ‘no handle holes’ once you are in the cart on the Cabjaks website.

How do I plan for Cabjaks corner cabinets?

Our corner base cabinets measure 786 × 786mm.

They align with 485mm deep cabinets when installed directly against the wall, or 585mm deep cabinets when installed 100mm off each wall. This results in an overall footprint of 886 × 886mm.

Blind corner cabinets require a filler panel on the return side to ensure doors and drawers can open properly.

For a 50 × 50mm corner, install the cabinet 35mm off the wall and use a 50mm wide filler panel.

What benchtop materials do you offer?

We manufacture 30mm high-pressure laminate benchtops with a particle board substrate. These are available as 3.6 metre benchtop blanks or in your required custom size with joins and clashing applied.

We also offer an engineered stone benchtop option made with 20mm Zero Silica stone, fabricated by Better Benchtops by AGB.

How do I order a custom benchtop?

You can use our online benchtop planner to select your required shape, size and finish options for your custom benchtop.

Can I order a benchtop cut-out?

Unfortunately, we are unable to manufacture any sink or cooktop cut-outs on custom benchtops or benchtop blanks. If you purchase a benchtop and sink through one of our kitchenettes, we can cut the sink hole out in your desired position.

Can I have my benchtops delivered with my cabinets?

Yes, you can choose to have your laminate benchtops delivered at the same time as your cabinets, as the lead time on both of these components is the same.

Stone benchtops have a different lead time due to additional templating and installation requirements. Find out more about the stone benchtop process.

How does the stone benchtop process work?

Any orders placed through Cabjaks for stone benchtops will be sent directly to our stone fabrication partner. They will contact you directly to liaise regarding timelines.

Stone benchtops require templating after your cabinets have already been installed. You will need to have any sinks, taps and appliances on site for review during the templating process. Find out more about the stone benchtop process.

Can I pick up a benchtop blank earlier?

We do not keep benchtop blanks in stock. These are manufactured and then allocated to existing orders as needed.

Blanks are sometimes available earlier than custom benchtops as they require less machining, however, this depends on our current allocation and production schedule. You can always contact us to get an update on your order or request an earlier production date and we will try our best to help out.

Can you manufacture breakfast bars in depths other than 650mm or 900mm?

Our standard laminate breakfast bars are available in 650mm or 900mm depths only, as we only stock these two sizes in our substrate with a rolled edge on both the front and back.

How do I know if a colour is out of stock?

If you can add the colour to your cart, it is currently in stock.

If the colour you’re looking for is not showing in the options, email info@cabjaks.co.nz to request availability information.

Please note our previous "White" benchtop colour has been replaced with "Pearl".

How do I calculate the size of my benchtop?

Add together the widths of all cabinets, voids, end panels, and overhangs.

You can then enter these dimensions into our benchtop planner and select your preferred edge finishes.

All standard benchtops include a rolled front edge. Breakfast bars include rolled edges on both front and back.

How do I calculate benchtop overhangs?

We recommend a 15mm front overhang. For example, with 585mm deep cabinets, a 600mm benchtop is recommended.

For exposed ends that are not against a wall or tall cabinet, allow a 10–15mm overhang and ensure the edge is finished to cover the raw board.

Can I purchase a benchtop offcut?

No, we do not keep offcuts in stock. You can order full 3.6 metre benchtop blanks online and contact us to check if an earlier pick up would be available.

Do you sell splashbacks or upstands?

No, we do not currently have any splashback or upstand options for our benchtops.

How should I clean my benchtop?

Laminate benchtops: For laminate benchtop surfaces, we recommend using warm, soapy water or a household spray cleaner such as Mr Muscle Surface and Glass or Ajax Spray & Wipe.

Stone benchtops: For stone surfaces, we recommend always starting your cleaning regime with a clean, wet cloth and mild liquid dish detergent. Gently buff dry with a clean, soft micro-fibre cloth. Avoid using harsh or abrasive scourers or cleaning products.

How should I seal my benchtop?

Seal any hidden exposed edges with acrylic paint to protect the particle board.

All benchtops should be sealed with silicone where they meet walls, end panels, or splashbacks to prevent water ingress.

If installing a splashback, apply a silicone seal, install the splashback, then apply the final silicone seal.

Do wardrobes come flat packed or assembled?

Our wardrobe towers and components are supplied flat packed for easier transport and installation. You can access our wardrobe installation guides for step-by-step installation support.

Do you manufacture wardrobe doors?

No, we do not manufacture sliding, wardrobe, or bifold doors. For these, we typically recommend using a specialist supplier such as Showerwell.

What if my top panel or hanging rail is too large for my space?

Our wardrobe top panels and hanging rails are designed to be cut down on-site to fit your space exactly. We are unable to cut these to size at our factory. However, you can order a custom panel if you prefer a pre-sized option.

Do you offer coloured wardrobe components?

No, we can only currently manufacture our wardrobe components in white.

How do I order wardrobes for multiple rooms?

Our wardrobe planner is wall-by-wall, so you will need to create a new plan for each wall or room.

We recommend placing separate orders for each wall or room so that your orders are separated out by order number when they arrive. You can contact us directly to organise a combined shipping option.

Can I order parts or extras without using the planner?

Yes, you can use our wardrobe components page or our complete order form to purchase individual parts.

If your wardrobe is not from Cabjaks, measure your required size and check whether one of our stock shelves will fit. Otherwise, you can order a custom-sized panel using our custom panel tool.

How do I place an order?

All orders must be placed online using the Cabjaks website and checkout process. This can either be done on your own device or with assistance from our team remotely or in the showroom.

Customer details, shipping address, delivery fees and payment options are all gathered in the checkout process.

Can I save my plan and order later?

Yes, you can create an account on the Cabjaks website using your name, email address and password. Any plans or carts you save will be found on the account page, along with your previous and current orders.

Saved plans do not have an expiry date, so this data will be stored for as long as you need.

Can I get a quote before ordering?

Yes, the easiest and fastest way to quote your project is to use one of our simple online planning tools. All of our available products and prices can be found on the website or in the planners.

If you have any questions about the products or require further assistance with planning, you can use our online chat or contact page to get in touch with the team.

Can I make changes after placing my order?

It’s best to ensure your order is correct before pushing it through the checkout process, as orders feed directly through into our backend production system as soon as they are placed and paid for.

If you need to place the order before you know it is 100% correct, make sure to use the ‘bank deposit’ payment option to ensure we do not begin production until you have confirmed the order and paid the full amount.

If your order has already been manufactured at the time of a change request, we may need to advise you of a late change fee.

As a general rule of thumb, we will do our best to assist with any changes or amendments needed throughout the order journey, as we understand that life happens and things are destined to change.

What payment methods do you accept and what are your payment terms?

We can currently accept payment with credit/debit cards through our online payment portal or by bank deposit. Neither of these options incur any transaction fees on our part.

We need to receive full payment before we start manufacturing your order.

When does my order go into production?

Your order will only be sent to our production team once we have received full payment for the order.

The expected lead time for manufacture only begins once payment has been received.

Do you offer on-site measures, designing or quoting services?

We do not provide any on-site services. If you need help with measuring, your best option is to contact one of our recommended installers or read our measuring how-to guide.

Our business model is a do-it-yourself experience. We have online planners for wardrobes, benchtops, laundries and kitchens.

We recommend creating an account, entering your measurements into the planner, and designing using the cabinetry/products available. You’ll be able to see the cost as you design.

We do not offer a design service. However, if you’re having trouble with our online planning tool, you can get in contact with us or visit our showroom and our team will do their best to help.

We also recommend checking out our How-To Guides.

How do I add special requirements, requests or order notes?

We have four special requirement options: No Handle Holes, No Handles / Handle Holes, No doors (include hinges and mounts), or No doors (no hinges or mounts).

These options can be found at the bottom of the page once you’ve selected “Go to cart”. There is also a Special Requirements box you can use for additional order or delivery notes.

Do you carry stock of your products?

All our cabinets, benchtops and wardrobes are made or picked to order, so we don’t keep spares in stock.

Some panels and accessories can be collected or shipped earlier than the standard lead time depending on stock levels.

Can I edit the items in my cart?

You can edit the quantity of an item in your cart, such as the number of handles. To change a measurement, the item needs to be deleted and added again with the new measurements.

Is there a 3D function on the planner?

We don’t currently have a 3D view for our planners.

For kitchen and laundry plans, we do have a front view planner. You can find this by clicking through to the Review stage of the planner. The button is just below your plan.

How do I reset my password?

If you’re struggling to reset your password, email info@cabjaks.co.nz with the email your account is linked to.

In most cases, it won’t let you reset your password because the account isn’t activated, so we’ll resend an activation link.

Do you have samples available?

Yes. Samples are free to collect from our showroom in Pakuranga, or there’s a flat courier fee of $20.

They can be ordered by searching “samples” on our website and checking out, or by visiting our samples page.

Do you offer an installation service?

No, we do not provide an installation service. We have a list of recommended installers available on our website under the installers section.

Do you provide any on-site services, such as measuring or quoting?

No, we do not carry out any on-site work. We manufacture the cabinetry only, and all quoting is done online using our planners.

If you need help measuring, we recommend contacting one of our recommended installers or referring to our measuring how-to guide.

Do you provide benchtop cut-outs for sinks or cooktops?

No, we do not provide sink or cooktop cutouts on custom benchtops. This is typically done during installation to ensure placement and measurements are correct.

You can access our sink cutout guide for more information.

The only exception is for kitchenettes where a sink and benchtop option is selected on the product page. Please note, the sink will still not be installed into the benchtop.

Do you provide everything required for installation?

Our cabinets come fully assembled, however minor adjustments to hinges or drawer fronts may be required during installation.

Screws, L-brackets, and other installation accessories are not included, but can be purchased from our accessories page.

Toe-kicks do not include clips. They are typically secured using silicone or glue onto the adjustable feet.

Where can I find installation guides?

You can find our full list of installation guides here. These are categorised by wardrobe, benchtop and cabinet and can be filtered accordingly.

If you are struggling to find the guide you need, just get in touch with us using the online chat or contact page.

What is the process for picking up my order?

Your order will be manufactured by your selected required-by date. Once it’s ready, you will receive an email confirming that your order can be picked up from our factory.

You do not need to book a time slot to pick up your order. However, if you are travelling from outside of Auckland, it’s a good idea to check your order is ready before you set off.

How do I arrange delivery?

You can choose delivery during checkout. At the Shipping stage, select delivery to your address.

If your order is being delivered outside of Auckland, it will be collected by our freight company, Conroy Removals. They will contact you after uplift to confirm a delivery time.

If your order is being delivered within Auckland, a member of our team will contact you the day before delivery to confirm.

Please note: The “date required” selected at checkout is an expected production date, not a delivery date. Once your order is completed, it will be booked onto the next available truck servicing your region. Truck uplift days vary by location, and some regions only have one uplift per week.

While our team will do their best to make the next truck if it falls before your required date, this cannot be guaranteed.

How much is delivery?

Delivery pricing is calculated based on the size of your order and your location. Once you’ve added everything to your cart, use the shipping calculator at the bottom of the page by entering your postcode and region to receive a quote.

Shipping calculator example image to be added here.

The system is unable to find my postcode, how do I get a delivery quote?

To get a manual quote from our freight company, an order needs to be in our system so we can confirm the cubic metreage.

To do this without paying upfront, select Organise your own shipping as the freight option, then select Bank deposit as the payment option.

This allows you to place the order without making payment. We can then request a freight quote and send you an updated invoice so you can decide whether to proceed or cancel.

Alternatively, you can try the nearest postcode(s) to yours as an estimate, however the final price may change once the correct address is entered.

How long after placing my order will I receive it?

Our production lead time varies depending on demand, but is typically 7–15 working days. During checkout, you’ll be prompted to select a “required date”. The soonest available date reflects our current production lead time.

Please note: This is not a delivery date. Freight trucks uplift from us on specific days depending on your region. For a more accurate ETA, please email info@cabjaks.co.nz.

What happens if my order gets damaged or lost by the freight company?

If your order is damaged in transit, please contact our office as soon as possible and we will arrange for a replacement to be made and sent out as quickly as we can.
